A few weeks ago the testing phase of the Didactic Tools’ learning units began in the classroom: these tools represent one of the intellectual outputs created in the framework of Key-Co System project (KA2 – Strategic partnership – Innovation). This tool has been designed to help adult teachers and learners with a migration background in teaching and learning the 8 key competences established by the European Commission: these are versatile materials, soon available for free download and subject to be enriched by experts or operators in the field of adult education.
The Didactic Tools are the result of the work carried out by all Key-Co System’s partners, who for over a year have been discussing how to make learning tools aimed at people from all over the world effective from a multicultural perspective.
The learning units’ testing is underway at the five partner schools of the project: Second Chance School of Assou-Lekaiou in Greece, VHS of Cham in Germany, Asociacion Guaranì of Madrid in Spain, CPIA Palermo Nelson Mandela and CPIA Palermo 2 in Italy. Numerous teachers and students are involved in this process: below we report the testimony of professor Susana Astiaso Laìn, of the Asociacion Guaranì, and of Theophilus Ntiakoh Adjei, a student of CPIA Palermo 2, both participants in the experimentation of the teaching units in the classroom.
“It has been an amazing experience to test the learning units we have created all together over the past year. It was wonderful to have a new perspective for my lessons. The students were surprised because they learned new contents, while I improved my way of teaching. I think my students are now better prepared to face the job search. «

“There is a great project going on here and I am so excited to be a part of it! It is very interesting to teach and learn about cultures, languages, food, clothing, customs and traditions all different from each other. It’s a great feeling having different people from different places gathered together under one roof, expressing their own cultures and learning about others’.»
